About the Role: Occupational Therapist – VisAbility Team

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Occupational Therapist to become part of our vibrant VisAbility team in Hobart. This is more than a job – it’s a purpose-driven opportunity to apply your clinical knowledge in a supportive environment and help transform lives.

In this role, you will be central to delivering client-focused, high-quality therapy services tailored to each individual’s unique goals and circumstances. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, your work will be essential to promoting independence, access and empowerment for clients through therapy, assistive technology and hands-on support.

Key Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist at EverAbility Group, your core duties will involve a blend of clinical, administrative and mentorship tasks that uphold professional standards and align with organizational values:

  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and use findings to develop, implement and monitor customized service delivery plans.

  • Provide professional recommendations on appropriate assistive technology solutions for enhanced client independence.

  • Ensure your service delivery is aligned with contemporary therapy frameworks, legal guidelines and the requirements set forth by relevant contracts or funding bodies.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation through our Client Management System (CMS).

  • Report any operational challenges, client concerns or service disruptions to the Program Manager promptly and professionally.

  • Stay engaged with continuous quality improvement efforts by participating in process reviews and collaborative innovation initiatives.

  • Serve as a mentor and resource within the OT community by delivering guidance, supervision and education to stakeholders, interns or less experienced colleagues.

  • Be adaptable and willing to undertake additional responsibilities or duties when requested by the leadership team.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

Mandatory Requirements

To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • A recognized tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.

  • Current and unrestricted registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

  • Demonstrated clinical experience in carrying out functional assessments, delivering person-centred therapeutic interventions and managing client cases efficiently.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and professional reports for stakeholders.

  • Confidence in making autonomous clinical decisions that are client-focused and evidence-based.

  • Effective time management and ability to meet program targets while balancing caseload priorities.

  • A progressive mindset and the capacity to contribute innovative solutions within a dynamic therapy environment.

  • Solid knowledge of disability and aged care legislation, standards and policy frameworks.

  • A valid National Police Clearance, NDIS Worker Screening Check (Working with Vulnerable People) and willingness to travel for client-related activities.

  • Experience working directly with adults who have physical disabilities, visual impairments or cognitive conditions such as acquired brain injuries.

Preferred Attributes

While not mandatory, the following attributes would be advantageous:

  • Prior employment in health, disability or community service sectors.

  • Working familiarity with NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) or My Aged Care program structures, including funding mechanisms and service expectations.

Salary Range and Classification

You will be offered a competitive annual salary ranging between $95,151 and $105,987, with the final amount dependent on your qualifications and experience.
