Sunday’s La Liga action included four matches before Barcelona suffered a shock home defeat to Leganes.
Atletico Madrid end the weekend tied on points with La Blaugrana at the top of the table ahead of their December 21 encounter.

Atlético Madrid 1-0 Getafe
Atletico Madrid extended their incredible run to 11 successive victories in all competitions by beating their neighbor Getafe.
Samuel Lino missed two chances in the first half, before substitute Alexander Sorloth made an impact off the bench at the break to give the hosts the lead in the 69th minute.
All eyes now turn to their trip to Catalonia next weekend where there could be a change at the top.
Alavés 1-1 Athletic Club
It was even an honor during a Basque derby in Vitoria-Gasteiz as Alaves scored a point at home against Athletic Club.
The visitors took the lead from the start Unai Gomez shot into the bottom corner at the Estadio Mendizorroza.
After missing numerous chances to make it 2-0 either side of the break, Alaves seized the opportunity to snatch a draw late in the match. Jeanne Jordan returned home at point blank range.
Real Sociedad 0-0 Las Palmas
There were no goals in San Sebastian as Real Sociedad were held by Las Palmas.
La Real dominated from the start as Martin Zubimendi smashed the bar early on before the visitors rallied.
Both goalkeepers were kept busy throughout the match, as Mikel Oyarzabal and Sandro Ramirez both hit the bar, but neither managed to pass.
Villarreal 1-2 Real Betis
Villarreal’s recent unfortunate streak continued with a 2-1 home defeat to Real Betis.
It was a mixed first half for the visitors as Vitor Roque gave them the lead before Chimy Avila was sent off before the break.
Giovani Lo Celso scored a brilliant free-kick to make it 2-0 after the restart, before Villarreal sealed a consolation late on, via Alex Baena’s superb finish.
